Christmas time is here! If you’re anything like me, you did tons of holiday shopping over Black Friday and Cyber Monday and packages are starting to arrive, waiting to be wrapped! Wrapping gifts is one of my favorite things in this life. I love presenting a beautiful package to someone on a special occasion, and during Christmas time there are plenty of opportunities to do just that! I wanted to share some of the ideas I had for making kraft paper wrapping more fun. I chose kraft paper because it’s cheap, easily accessible, and I know you all have tons of paper bags lying around that haven’t been recycled yet and you need to get rid of (pro tip: all those bags can be used as kraft wrapping paper, even those with logos can be turned inside out). Bonus: all of the supplies I used in this post are from the Dollar Tree! Double Bonus: kraft paper is much more environmentally friendly, and if you can get your hands on other well-sourced materials, you can recycle the paper or even compost it! Okay that’s pretty much all I have to say so let’s get into it 🙂
You’ll need:
-roll of kraft paper or old paper bags (even the paper stuffing in amazon packages works)
-pom poms
-real or fake sprigs
-ribbons and bows
-cards
-any other decor you want!
Christmas Pom Poms:
This package came out so cute! All you need to do is wrap your gift and add some twine. Next, attach pom poms of various colors to the package. I used hot glue and Christmas colored pom poms. You only need a tiny bit of glue. This is so stinkin’ adorable I can’t even handle it. It is so fun looking and while I think anyone would be happy to receive this gift, I think kids would absolutely love it. You can also make your own pom poms with yarn for a more high end look and glue them to bigger packages or attach them to a gift tag. So many options!
Festive Evergreen:
I love the way natural elements and textures look with kraft paper, it’s like they were made for each other! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve added mini sprigs or wreaths to a Christmas gift, it just looks so festive. Here I added Dollar Tree garland cut into three sprigs and attached it to the package. I also wrapped a bunch of twine around the sprigs and added a Dollar Tree bow for an extra touch. This just looks so classic to me, I love adding natural wintery elements to any package I can!
Vintage Santa:
I saw these cards at the Dollar Tree with vintage Santas and thought about how cute they might look on a present! So, I did just that. After wrapping my gift in kraft paper I added a gold ribbon going one way around the whole package. I also think white, red, or green ribbon would look stunning here, or even a burlap or lace ribbon! Next I cut the card in half so I only had the front piece with the Santa, and glued it in the center of the package and ribbon. Voila! You have a festive and super classy package done just like that! I think this is definitely a new favorite for me, I can’t wait to wrap more gifts like this.
