A Day At The Apple Orchard

Happy fall y’all! I always know fall is officially here when I go apple picking with my family. It’s something that we try to keep as a tradition every year. Here in Arizona, it is a little difficult to get into that autumnal mood as the weather is still blazing hot, even in October. That being said, the apple orchard is really the event that merges me from a summer mindset to a fall one, despite the weather. There aren’t an abundance of apple orchards to choose from in Arizona, and while there are a few other decent choices, I have to say Apple Annie’s is the one for me. It is well worth the drive, not only for the superb produce, but also because I don’t feel like I’m in the middle of the desert while picking! Let me show you what the orchard has to offer! 🙂

Apple Annie’s is split into a few locations all close together. There is the apple orchard, u-pick produce area, and gift shop. The orchard is well organized, divided by category, and the apples are well sized!

We honestly went a little wild at the orchard and picked more apples than we could count. We had so much fun though, and not to worry the apples did not go to waste! We’ve been eating them for healthy snacks all the time, and I’ve been testing out tons of recipes with them 🙂

Also can’t forget about the pears! There were so many varieties!

The u-pick produce section was a little too exciting for me. I love the idea of picking my own veggies and cooking with them. Something that I really love about Apple Annie’s is that it’s both adult and kid friendly. All of the picking is enjoyable for the adults, and there’s tons of kid friendly activities as well.

There’s so much produce to choose from! We ended up with lots of squash, mini pumpkins, green beans, peppers, eggplant, tomatoes and cucumbers! We went at the end of September so there was a good mix of early seasonal fall produce, and late summer produce.

My favorite, of course was picking mini pumpkins. 🙂

Another part of this location is the u-pick sunflowers, which I’m sure all you ladies out there would geek over.

After picking so many apples we tried to be a little more reasonable with the produce we picked here, so this is the lot of veggies we grabbed! I can say for certain that most of these are gone already. We loved this little autumn harvest, plus a few of the summer veggies!

If you live in Arizona, I would highly recommend Apple Annie’s if you’re looking for a good apple picking place! It’s also a great one stop shop, you can get that pumpkin patch feel here too and get that out of the way if you want. I think it’s a fall bucket list must, and a great place to celebrate the start of autumn! We had so much fun, and I can’t wait to continue this tradition!
