Hi everyone! Recently my family got a new puppy and we have been loving him! When planning out blog ideas for the month my dad pointed out that I’ve never made homemade dog treats before. I decided it would be fun to do some experimenting and I came up with these! The pup is a little too young for the treats but our other dog absolutely LOVES them. I don’t think she has ever acted this excited to get a treat so I think it’s safe to say they are pup approved.

These are so easy and it reminds me that I need to treat the dogs like this more often! Here’s how to make ’em:
You’ll only need 4 ingredients to make these: banana, peanut butter, oat flour and an egg. Banana is okay for your dog in moderation, as well as peanut butter so long as it doesn’t have xylitol, so always check for that! Oats are also excellent for dogs, as they are a little easier on the stomach than traditional wheat. Eggs also add some protein for your pup!

You’ll need : 1 banana, 3 TBSP peanut butter, 1 egg, 1 3/4 cup oat flour.
All you need to do is mix all these ingredients together until it forms a dough consistency. The mixture may look a little too runny to be rolled out at first, and that’s okay! The oats need to absorb the liquid a little longer, so leave it be for 10-15 minutes until the mixture is firm enough to roll.

Roll the dough between two sheets of parchment paper, and then stamp out as many treats as you’d like! I used random cookie cutters in the house; a cactus, heart, and home one, but you can always just cut circles or bone shapes out if that is easier for you.

Bake on parchment paper for about 22 minutes, or until hardened and golden brown. Also keep in mind that they will harden a bit out of the oven, but not too much because of the banana, so use your judgement!

Let cool and feed to your pups!

Hope you all enjoyed this little recipe!

With Love,
Jenna
